Originating in early Christian Egypt, this centuries-old method involves sewing multiple sections through the cover to create a durable book with an elegant exposed spine that lays completely flat—ideal for journals, sketchbooks, or personal projects.
In this hands-on session, you will receive step-by-step guidance to craft a Coptic binding. Along the way, you'll deepen your understanding of various binding techniques and learn to use essential bookbinding tools.
All materials—paper, thread, and needles—are provided, with additional supplies available for purchase. Tools will be available for use during the workshop and can also be purchased separately.
